Spring Jazz Concerts

To design and produce a video that promoted a series of Jazz concerts hosted by The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, Texas.

INSIGHT

For this project I decided to draw inspiration from the extensive collection of gorgeous Jazz album covers of the 50’s and 60’s. To emulate that distinctive Blue Note look I first converted generic stock photography into black and white images which instantly made them more interesting and visually appealing. To add minimal color and visual interest, I superimposed geometric shapes over the instruments and enhanced the layering process with blending modes. Bold typography was used throughout the video and lastly, subtle patterns were added as background elements to provide some mild texture.
